Booster Fundraising

The Bastrop Band Boosters plan to have several large fundraisers this year to help keep the band program high quality for our students and to provide operating funds and supply the extra needs of our band programs at all of our campuses from intermediate to high school. It will take involvement from many of our parents and students. Please consider being a part of our exciting team!

Fundraising participation is a requirement for Band Booster Senior and Band Camp Scholarships. Both students and parents may participate and scholarship credit is given for each person working a fundraiser.

For senior scholarships, the student and/or their family must work at least 4 Band Booster fundraisers each of their high school years.

For band camp scholarships, the student and/or their family must work at least 4 Band Booster fundraisers during the year when the scholarship is applied for.

Here are some of the fundraisers planned for this year:

Fireworks Store:

The Bastrop Band Boosters are now the managers of a fireworks store. That's right, store, not stand. The store is located on Highway 71 west of Garfield. Since this is a store, no one has to stay overnight. The area is well lighted, has a security alarm, is air conditioned/heated and has cash registers and scanners. We will open at 8 am each morning and close in the late evening.

We are fortunate to have been offered such an opportunity. I'm sure many of you know what the potential is here for earning funds. We have been given a minimum guarantee. There is no maximum on what we can make. Please ask your friends, neighbors, and relatives to patronize our store.

Concession Stands:

Operating the home-side concession stand at Erhard Field is our major fundraiser during the football season.

It requires parents and students to help on Thursday and Friday nights. The help includes: setting up, preparing the food, selling the drinks, food and other items at the stand, and cleaning the stand at the end of the night.

High School students earn a point toward their letter jacket for participation on Thursday night. Students who will be applying for a scholarship from the band boosters can use this towards the 4 activities per year required. Parental involvement will qualify for their student’s scholarship requirement also.
