Concert Band

Membership in the Bear Band Concert Band is by audition in the spring. Students must participate in section rehearsals/master classes each week outside of class time.

This organization performs at invitational concert contests as well as the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest.

Concert Band students will be given a complete calendar of events. Students in this ensemble will perform music from the grades 2 and 3 UIL lists.  

Students are encouraged to participate in all-region band tryouts. Students must participate in solo and ensemble contest in the spring semester. Conflicts with other BHS academic and/or athletic events must be discussed with and cleared in advance with the director of the ensemble.

Weekly sections will be a regular part of the class. Weekly section rehearsals will begin at the conclusion of marching season. The days for Concert Band sectionals are as follows:

Work, homework, babysitting, driver's education classes, or transportation problems are never accepted as excuses for missing a rehearsal or performance.
