Greetings Band Members and Band Parents;
It is with much humility and excitement that I introduce myself as your new Director of Bands. After almost ten years of teaching, I know the traditions and reputations that Bastrop has earned, and I look forward to progressing into a new era of the Bastrop High School Band.
So that you can be better informed as to future events, I have enclosed a calendar of the entire year. Although some events are tentative as to time, you have my word that notice of change will be given as soon as available. Within this calendar you will find rehearsal dates and times, contests, banquets, audition dates, and even trip dates. I ask that you begin to set these dates in stone as soon as you can. I also give these dates to you this far in advance so that work schedules can be modified to work around events and rehearsals. I hope that this will begin a long-standing tradition of community and parent involvement in the program. I hope to see a large cheering section at our contests made up of not only parents, but also of members of the community.
As we move forward, I will continue to bring you up to speed on the details of our upcoming year. But for now I must focus on the upcoming summer band schedule. I understand that some individuals have been told times and dates for the upcoming season. To prevent confusion, this schedule is the official Bastrop Band Summer schedule.

These dates and times are mandatory. Every minute that a student misses of a rehearsal is one more minute behind the competition the band becomes. Together we can put forth an ensemble that will set a new standard of excellence in Bastrop.
This is going to be a very exciting and rewarding school year for all persons involved in the Bastrop Band Program. I take great pride in being your new director. I hope that you will share in my dedication and enthusiasm as we work to make our future the best it can be.
